ATFM AREA - Air Traffic Flow Management Area of NM
The area where NM is directly responsible for ATFM

ATFM ADJ - ATFM Adjacent Area
Any flight departing this area and penetrating the ATFM area may be subject to ATFM measures

FPM DIST - FPM Distribution Area (IFPZ)
The area in which NM is responsible for the reception, validation and subsequent distribution of FPL messages to the ATS. FPL validation and correction shall only be done for that part of the field 15 which is in this area. If corrections inside this area have an impact on that part of the field 15 which is outside this area it must be ensured that the addressees of the remaining part of the field 15 are mentioned in the forward address list of the FPL received by IFPS or if the AO agrees to re-send the FPL (after correction) to these addressees himself.

FPM COPY - FPM Copy Distribution Area
IFPS sends copies of the received and relevant FPLs to addressees in this area. However the NM is not responsible for the reception, validation and correction nor for the completeness of the FPL messages distributed to these countries. As Aircraft Operators are obliged to send their FPL to IFPS if it penetrates the FPM Distribution area, IFPS will in general receive and distribute those FPLs to these addressees

    FPM DIST (IFPZ) + FPM COPY


NM AREA (same as FPM Dist + ATFM AREA + RSO AREA (CRCO) + FPM COPY)
This is the assembly of the FPM Distribution area, the FPM Copy area, the ATFM area and the CRCO area. It is a technical area used to decide if an FPL is relevant for NM (and CRCO) operations. A profile penetrating this area must be extracted either because the FPL is to be distributed by IFPS or because it penetrates the ATFM area or because CRCO requires the FPL.
