WIND
FCU Editing Status

The FCR contains a collection of FCUs which can be accessed by different content editors.

To preserve Data integrity, concurrent access to a given FCU is currently not supported. As a result, editing the content of a FCU temporarily locks it to other users.

WIND uses different wording and color codes to express the editing status of a FCU:

  • When freely available, the name of a FCU is typed in black ink - see example 1 below. Anyone can open it in read-only (Load it) or in edit mode (Check it out) - see more about Load FCU and Checkout FCU in FCU Commands Menu.
  • When already being edited by someone else, the FCU is typed in red - and the identifier of the editing person appears between brackets, with the mention "checked out by" - as in examples 3 and 6.
  • When already being edited by yourself, the FCU is then typed in green - and your own identifier then appears as "checked out by", as in examples 4 and 5. Please note that, seen from the perspective of another user, these will appear in red... Note also that the NOP_DOC_PC FCU (example 4) is not only checked out (locked for your usage) but also loaded (you can see its content in the right hand editing pane).
  • A FCU name may also appear in gray - indicating that it has been prepublished, and by whom.
